Tomorrow we "fall back". And we have the best way to spend that "extra" hour in your day!
What will you do with tomorrow's "extra" hour? How about taking the time to get your skin ready for winter with a nurturing and hydrating facial mask? When it comes to skin health, masks are one of the best ways to keep your face in shape. But which mask is best for your skin?
1) If your skin is congested: Try a decongesting/detoxifying mask. Our favorite is Skin & Tonic's Detox Mask. Green clay works to draw out impurities, while green matcha tea contains catechins, which are strong anti-oxidants, that serve to strengthen the skin, neutralize free-radicals, and and are anti-inflammatory (making it perfect for rosacea and acne-prone skin types).
What is unique about this mask is that it comes in powder form. This means that you can customize it based on your skin's needs that day. If your skin is dry, mix it with a little yogurt and honey. Oily and breaking out? half water and half witch hazel will do the trick. Just in need of a pick me up? Water will handle that. The best part? Within one use, you will see a more radiant complexion.
2) If your skin is dry: We recommend the Rodial Dragon's Blood Hyaluronic Mask. There are two kinds of dry skin. Oil dry and dehydrated. The later requires an increased intake of water, but both benefit from a mask containing hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a humectant. Each molecule can hold 1000x its weight in water. We are born with a set level of hyaluronic acid and we can't produce it after birth. Over time, it degrades and loses it's strength. Think of how babies have such beautiful, plump skin. That's the hyaluronic acid doing its thing.
Using a mask that contains hyaluronic acid can aid in the appearance of fatter, smoother skin cells and is a MUST if you have dehydrated skin.
We also carry masks for lifting, sculpting, color correction, and more. Stop by the store or look around the website for the best in indie and luxury face masks.
As always, if you have any questions about your skin's particular needs, our licensed esthetician/fearless leader, Liz, is always ready to help. Email her at Liz@thegildedgirl.com
